Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what VIBE collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It works with our Terms of Service.

1. What we collect

Depending on how you use VIBE, we may collect:

• Account: name, email, password hash, and sign-in provider
• Profile: handle, bio, photos, banner, colors, widgets, location you type in
• Content: posts, comments, Reels, Stories, lounge messages, direct messages
• Love Alert (only if you turn it on): date of birth, approximate area, quiz answers, preferences
• Device: browser type, language, and coarse network info needed to run the site
• Safety: reports, blocks, mutes, and related logs

We do not sell your personal information. Love Alert coordinates stay on the server for matching. Other people see an area label, not a street.

2. How we use it

• To run your account, feed, messages, and uploads
• To show your public profile the way you designed it
• To send transactional email: password reset, welcome, new message, Love Alert, Mutual Vibe
• To stop spam, abuse, and illegal content
• To measure what is broken so we can fix it

3. What other people see

Public profiles, public posts, Reels, and Stories can be seen by anyone on VIBE. Friends-only and private settings limit that. Direct messages stay between the people in the thread, except when we have to review them for safety or law. Love Alert only shows you to people who also turned it on and pass the age and distance gates.

4. Email

We email you about the account (reset, welcome) and about activity you would see in Alerts (a new message, a Love Alert, a Mutual Vibe). We do not sell your address to advertisers. Transactional mail is part of using VIBE. If a mail provider is not configured, the message is stored for the owner so the product still works in preview.

5. How long we keep it

We keep account and content data while the account is open. Deleted posts and accounts are removed from the live product; backups may lag. Reports and legal records may be kept longer when we have a good-faith safety or legal reason.

6. Sharing

We share data only when we need to:

• Vendors who host VIBE, send email, or store media, under a duty to protect it
• The law, if we get a valid request
• To protect someone from serious harm

7. Your choices

• Edit your profile, photos, and visibility in Settings and Edit My Vibe
• Turn Love Alert off — discovery stops
• Block or mute people
• Delete posts, reels, stories, and your account
• Request a password reset from Login

8. Children

VIBE is not directed at children under 13. Love Alert is 16+. We do not knowingly collect Love Alert data from anyone under 16.

9. Security

We use hashed passwords, session cookies, and access controls. No method is perfect. You are also responsible for your device and your password.

10. VIBE is not responsible for

• How other users use information they can see on a public profile
• Screenshots, screen recordings, or copies someone makes of your content
• Third-party sites, music, or widgets you attach
• A breach or leak at a vendor we don’t control, beyond what the law requires us to do

11. Changes

We’ll update the date at the top when this policy changes. Material changes will be noticed in the product when we can.
